The Gibbon Rehabilitation Project is a fantastic opportunity to get up close and personal with our hairy cousins.
The Gibbons Rehabilitation programme is an excellent chance to gain an insight into the lives of these amazing simians. As a volunteer on the programme, you will be assisting the wardens in the gibbons everyday care and rehabilitation and also helping with educational programs to advise tourists and locals understand how Gibbons in their rainforest habitats are affected by the modern world. The project is in place to reduce poaching and deforestation and works in tandem with the conservation movement in Thailand.
The duration of the programme is from 3 weeks to 6 months You can extend your placement in multiples of 1 week
Volunteers are welcome to join the project on every Monday through out the year
Volunteer must be over 18 years of age and in good physical condition.
A basic command of spoken English is essential.
No specific experience required but must have good teamwork skills.
Volunteers are required to have had all relevant vaccinations for Hepatitis A & B, Tuberculosis (TB), Diphtheria, Rabies, Pertissus, Tetanus and Japanese Encephalitis before entering to projects.
