Help Children with Special Needs in Nepal

General Info

Many children in Nepal suffer from disabilities, however due to poverty and a lack of adequate transport systems, disabled children are prevented from getting access to education.

Education is critical to a child's development and well-being and this programme gives volunteers the chance to contribute to the education or of children with special needs.

Why you are needed:

Simply, there are not enough people helping disadvantaged children throughout the world, so by volunteering with children with special needs you are able to make an important contribution to the education of disabled children in Nepal.
This programme is an enormously gratifying experience. Gratifying, not only because you will be dedicating hours of your day to improving the lives of children, but gratifying also because you will come away from the experience completely changed from your time spent caring for these children.

Requirements:

* Minimum age 18 yrs.
* You do not need any formal teacher training or experience to participate, but whatever experience you do have will be taken into account when arranging your day-to-day activities.
* A good command of oral and written English.
* Volunteers need to be independent, enthusiastic and adaptable, hard-working with an open-minded attitude. Volunteers need to take initiative.
* Patience is a must at this programme.
* International volunteers are welcome.
