English Language Teaching Assistant Work in Chile

General Info

It’s a national requirement to offer English at primary level, but the teacher is not necessarily a highly experienced English speaker, or may be someone with little direct contact with the English-speaking world. Therefore they invite volunteers to support the teacher in the role of English Language Teaching Assistant – particularly with pronunciation and giving kids the chance to have one-to-one conversations. The assistant need not have an EFL qualification – you only need to be a native speaker (although you can be German or Dutch or Scandinavian if your English is impeccable!)
