General Info

Volunteers joining the Healthcare Program make a genuine contribution to staff working in the local Nepalese Hospitals and medical clinics. Volunteers get a hand on clinical experience and get to observe and experience the healthcare system in the Himalayan Kingdom.

Depending on your knowledge and skills, you will be asked to assist with various procedures such as suturing wounds, giving vaccinations, being involved in the daily procedures of the hospital – observing or directly providing various sorts of assistance to existing doctors and nurses.

Volunteers may also be expected to assist in administrative tasks such as conducting hospital rounds with the doctors, maintaining files, routine patient check-ups, measure blood pressure, body temperature, record patient’s height, weight, and more.

The Healthcare Program is ideally suited for Pre medical and medical students who need to gain valuable experience which will be beneficial for their medical career.

Requirements:

Volunteers must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the program and must have some sort of experience or background in the medical field. Pre Medical and medical students, doctors and nurses are welcome to join the program. Volunteers should be flexible and adaptive to working in a new environment.
