Spain: Marine Conservation Volunteer Project

The Conservation Project is located in Denia, a traditional fishing town 100 kms south of Valencia and home of the Marine Reserve in the Cape of San Antonio.

General Info

Valencia's coast is one of the most beautiful parts of Spain. It is lined with many kilometers of beaches where tourists from around the world enjoy the sunny weather and practice water sports. However, the increase in tourism also has its effects on the environment.

Volunteers participating in these projects will learn new skills and contribute to minimize the environmental impact of their travel and get involved in important conservation and research programs.

Volunteer tasks include underwater cleaning, learn to accurately identify the targeted species, survey and data collection of underwater habitats in danger and helping with the logistical operations.

The major highlights of the program for volunteers is to work and live in a charming coastal town whilst helping protect the Mediterranean marine biodiversity .Volunteers can also learn to scuba dive and practice other sports like snorkelling and sailing.
