Volunteer on a Construction Program in India

Company : Volunteering Journeys
Location : Kerala, South India
Duration: 1 week to 4 weeks
Approx Costs: 250 to 1500 £ Pound (UK)

If you like to get your hands dirty then this is the project for you. Help build toilets and also rainwater harvest tanks for sanitation in local fishing villages in Kerala.

Proper infrastructure and efficient systems are key aspects to the health and well being of local communities. Our construction projects focus on addressing basic human needs and aim to help protect those most at risk.

If you are volunteering on our construction program for 2 weeks you can build a toilet facility. Many of the houses in the backwaters villages lack proper toilet facilities as they cannot afford to build one. Women and children often have to go out in to the open which is not safe for them. Through this project you can change someone’s life and make a real contribution towards building hygienic sanitation practices in Kerala that cause widespread health problems in the community.

On the weekend you will get time to relax and we will be sending you for a relaxing trip to the backwaters. You can also try some fishing or canoeing on this trip!
