General Info

Volunteer Grandparents exists to bring together older people and young families in a variety of ways.

Older adults are playing a role or making a contribution to the younger generation and this emotional bond promotes self esteem and breaks social isolation. Children who have a relationship with an older adult develop socially and emotionally in many positive ways.

The grandparent- grandchild relationship is the key element and Volunteer Grandparents encourages and promotes the development of strong and healthy families by supporting intergenerational connections. Connecting generations provides opportunities to bring young and old together; share experiences and learn; understand and share cultural values and build positive relationships between generations.
