Volunteer Eco Students Abroad

Since 2009, Volunteer Eco Students Abroad (VESA) have provided direct action support to communities in parts of the world overlooked by traditional charities and aid organisations.

Our short-term volunteer projects aim to secure the long-term social and environmental futures for these communities.

Volunteer on a VESA humanitarian and conservation project. Experience the difference you will make on a life-changing adventure with VESA. What are you waiting for?

VESA has been working with the same remote communities in South America, the Fiji Islands, South Africa and Southeast Asia since 2009. Integrity and respect for these communities and our volunteers is what we’re about, and we invite you to be part of our leading responsible travel projects.

A VESA project allows you to help build crucial housing and refurbish local schools, work with wildlife conservationists and promote sustainability and environmental awareness, all the while experiencing some of the world’s most remote and captivating regions. Get ready to participate actively in change through hands on work and encounter unique cultures worlds away from your own. It’s time to be immersed in new experiences, forge connections with people and countries, and grow in a way you never have before.

Our experienced and trusted VESA leaders will give you on the ground support and guidance so you can feel safe and secure throughout your project. We want you to feel passionate about your contribution, which is why we ensure that each volunteer is given a project tailored to their own skills and interests.

Our Projects

  • Amazonas Explored
  • Africa Unearthed
  • Laos Elephants Encountered
  • Fiji Islands Discovered

Adventure is at the heart of the VESA experience. Immersion in the local culture and surrounding environment grants you access to unexplored worlds and new life outlooks. When you embark on a VESA project you’ll learn and do things you never thought possible, we guarantee it! We give our VESA volunteers the chance to explore the very best of their project country. Imagine island hopping in the beautiful South Pacific, trekking through the Amazon, taking a dip in Lao’s pristine Kuang Si Falls, or coming face to face with Africa’s ‘big five’ in the wild. This is real-world experience you’ll have for life.

With VESA you can share these monumental moments with likeminded travellers, and feel confident knowing that traveling with us means being totally eco-friendly and environmentally aware at all times. We actively give back to each community by employing locals to help out on our projects, buying indigenous building materials and utilising local tour operators during all of our eco-tours. We endeavour at all times to provide a safe and secure environment for our volunteers.

The directors of VESA have personally completed every program to ensure that all standards of health and safety can be met. We are a transparent, responsible organisation that promotes long-term sustainability through you, our driven, compassionate volunteers. Your VESA travel adventure empowers you to make a positive and real impact on the world around you – join a project now.

Volunteer Eco Students Abroad Reviews

Ecuador & South America with VESA

I went to volunteer in Ecuador with VESA and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The team were brilliant and it was something I will never forget. I'm looking forward to doing another trip with VESA in the future.

VESA Abroad: Africa Unearthed.

I was lucky enough to travel to South Africa this summer with VESA Abroad. It was the most amazing and filling experience I have ever had. Not only did I get to see some incredible wildlife and culture, I got to give back to a community. From building houses and crocodile enclosures, teaching children English, to going on many safaris. I visited South Africa, Swaziland and Mozambique. The tour leaders were very nice and I have met incredible people, who I will be friends with for life. I would highly recommended this volunteering experience.
