Our Sri Lanka trips combine worthwhile work at local deaf schools with helping at a sea turtle conservation project, visiting an elephant orphanage, learning how to cook Sri Lankan food, doing a Sri Lankan sign language class, visiting Temple of the Tooth in the ancient city of Kandy and much more!
Your mornings will normally be spent helping doing practical renovation work at a poor local deaf school. Our volunteers have gradually refurbished classrooms, dormitories and playgrounds at several local deaf schools around Sri Lanka, greatly improving the lives of local D/deaf students.
You don't need any previous experience, work is allocated according to volunteers' preferences and skills and we provide all materials and guidance.

We fit a huge amount into your trip (and this is all included - no nasty surprises after arriving!) but it's all carefully planned so nothing ever feels a rush and you always have time to relax and ask our friendly staff all about the various places we visit.

If you want to stay longer you can add Teaching Add-ons for £150 per week.
We welcome D/deaf, hard-of-hearing and hearing people on our trips. We provide an experienced BSL Interpreter from the UK on every trip so communication will be smooth whatever your preferred mode of communication.
