Rio de Janerio is a beautiful city which has many contraditions, extreme poverty living alongside massive wealth. On this tour you will get to learn more about the favelas of Rio and see what work is being done to improve life for local people in the Santa Marta favela.

This is a safe favela and tour, this area of Rio has been pacified as part of the governments attempts to clean up the city for the Olympics and World Cup. Highlights of this tour include wandering around the little alleys and streets, seeing where Michael Jacksons's 'They Don't Really Care About Us' music video was filmed and also see spectacular views of the city.

You will have a English speaking guide who is local and so will be able to take you to the very best locations, this is a very insightful real life experience and the whole tour lasts approximately 2 - 3 hours.

This is a daily tours and the pickup point is Copacabana Palace Hotel on Avenida Atlântica in Copacabana and you will need to book in advance to secure your spot. Please note if you are thinking about joining this tour with your family children will need to be aged 6 and over.
