General Info
What do volunteers do?
Volunteers work closely with the local staff, mostly the social workers, to assess the public health situation in the markets. They propose a research topic once they have had the chance to observe the markets firsthand, although particularly relevant areas include access to quality healthcare, dental care, family planning and nutrition. Although some markets may have a rudimentary community center from which to operate, volunteers should expect to conduct their fieldwork in the markets. Upon completing their study, volunteers work with our local partner to design and implement health campaigns targeting the identified problems.
