Like something out of a fairytale, Iceland’s collection of geysers, glaciers, waterfalls, and fjords are both awe-inspiring and unusual; the sharp contrast of fire and ice create an experience that can’t be matched. Add to that the abundance of authentic cuisine and fresh seafood and you’ve got yourself one extremely magical place. Dive in!

Itinerary

Day 1: Reykjavik, Iceland
With landscapes like this, Iceland might as well be its own solar system. Make your own way to your accommodation for a date with your Trip Leader and fellow #topdeckers. Make friends, swap travel stories and grab some drinks. We’ve got an introduction to Iceland’s nightlife on the cards tonight. Beer tasting – we’re ready for ya!

Day 2: Reykjavik
Off to the Blue Lagoon today. Sounds like something out of Disney and looks like something from space. Lunar landscape. Natural geothermal pools. The chance to explore and swim. In winter. Outside. Iceland is awesome. As if life couldn’t get any better than that, wait ‘till tonight. We’re off chasing the Northern Lights. Visibility can’t be guaranteed but if you nail that shot you won’t need to take another photo again. Ever.

Day 3: Reykjavik
Swap natural wonders for city life with a free day in über-cool Reykjavík. Check out the views from Hallgrímskirkja then hit up the half-submerged City Hall and grab a coffee with half your body under the waterline. Surreal. If you're a nature-lover, don't miss the optional Golden Circle tour for 300 kilometres of the very best Icelandic landscapes (see also: the UNESCO World Heritage Site Thingvellir National Park). Come nightfall, there are foodie haunts abound. Local delicacies like smoked sheep head or rotten shark = a little too much for most. But we’re up for a bite from the world's best hot dog stand. Bill Clinton allegedly rates it. For something even more local, head to the other end of the lake for great food and great views. Definitely worth the trip. But be warned, the best nightlife starts late. Like midnight. Dancing shoes at the ready!

Day 4: Reykjavik
Farewells today. But don’t get too upset. You ticked off some epic bucket list activities. Keen for round two?
