The XL Academy

General Info

The XL Academy is a christian gap year that has been running since September 2003 and we have seen students from all across the world

... including Australia, Mexico, USA, Spain, Poland and of course the UK spend one year of their life at the Academy.

The XL Academy is a combination of training, mentorship, ministry opportunity, mission and friendship. Academy team members are fully integrated into the life and ministry of Church @ The Foundry, making use of the entire skill base that you bring to the team.

Whether you are interested in worship, youth leadership, multimedia design, schools work, kids work, evangelism, mission, developing your knowledge of the bible, creative arts, the XL Academy will challenge you and give you a fantastic base for your gifting to grow whilst making lifelong friends in a great local church community.

We believe the most effective training for life should take place in the body of Christ – the church. At the XL Academy, you will be given the opportunity to receive training, experience ministry and be part of an excellent church family whilst living together as a team in the "XL House". Don't worry; you won’t be put on your own to live with a family, the excellent accommodation of the Foundry Village means that as a team you live/eat on-site together at all times!

The XL Academy will give you a solid platform to whatever is next in your life. It will ground you in your faith, teach and mould you, as well as challenge you in all areas of life.
