The Wild Horse Rescue Center (WHRC)

The Wild Horse Rescue Center (WHRC) is dedicated to the preservation of America's wild horses. We rescue, rehabilitate and find new homes for mustangs and burros. We provide educational clinics and seminars to the public. We are based in Mims, Florida.

Location

We are located 40 minutes from Orlando, Florida where you will find Walt Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, and LEGOLAND. Attractions close to our center include the Kennedy Space Center, a National Seashore, Wildlife Refuge, and much more.

Transport to and from Orlando City or Airport is provided by us for weekly/extended stay volunteers.

Volunteer

Volunteers are crucial to our rescue center – providing much needed help and allowing us to properly care for our rescued Mustangs.

WHRC could not exist without our volunteers.  By visiting WHRC, you are taking an active part in our rescue work and a critical stand against abuse and mistreatment of wild horses. You will help ensure a dignified life for our horses and help sustain America’s wild heritage – the Mustang.

As a visitor to our rescue and rehabilitation center you will get up close and personal with our charismatic rescued horses and assist in real hands on rehabilitation work. We guarantee you that this encounter with horses will be like no other horse experience you have ever had.
