Worst Company Ever!!

Having booked with the mighty roar to go away and volunteer abroad. I am unable to travel (which I completely understand) because of Coronavirus/travel restrictions. The mighty roar will not issue me a refund or allow me to switch dates or anything!! They are just keeping my money and saying I either go or loose out. Terrible customer service , all forms of communication have been unsuccessful. Wish I read the reviews first before booking looks like I am not the only unhappy customer.

False selling

Just had to rescue my daughter from Tenerife as THE MIGHTY ROAR’s basic accommodation was atrocious, from the smell of cats wee, fungus growing in fridge, razor blades in the shower that was unfit to use bedding that was stained. This was her first introduction into volunteering Thanks The Mighty Roar. Aw and no refund on her hard earned money she parted with.

Scam

Total scam of a company they don’t give a shit about anyone, once they have your money your on your own, also your in the country illegally as the visa they tell you to get is the wrong one. Sri Lanka Immigration all ready know this and have been watching them for a few months now don’t join tmr ( the mighty roar ) u are at risk of going to jail

Orphanage Cambodia

I was very happy with the support provided by The Mighty Roar. They were always quick and efficient and very helpful. My trip to Cambodia was amazing, Sean, the orphanage director, was very accommodating and made us feel at home. I was very surprised to find Western style accommodation with air-conditioning, which was a lovely bonus. We taught two classes a day, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. We were given a fair bit of freedom in the lesson planning although they have an English textbook which was helpful. The children were genuinely a pleasure to teach and always eager to learn.

Amakhala big 5 conservation

Although my stay at amakhala was fairly positive, i was left rather disapointed as activities were very different from what the mighty roar suggest. On the positive side the team at amakhala are very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation is gorgeous (old converted railway station with loads of character & a pool!) i was not expecting such lovely facilities and this was a very pleasant surprise ! The house is also cleaned daily by a lovely lady called Patricia who goes out of her way to help. Both airport pick ups to & from the airport arrive in plenty of time and are very friendly & informative. The wildlife within the park is spectacular, amakhala make sure that you will see plenty. Unfortunately there were drawbacks which were mainly caused by a lack of ororganization On arrival i wasn't given any induction or a chance to freshen up. We headed straight to the childrens school within around 10 minutes of arriving. Although this was a incredible experiance it was hindered by not being prepared having just gotten of a long flight & not even having an opportunity to get water. Secondly there was barely any food until half way through the week. With the local store only stocking minimal produce. Definitely not suitable if you have any dietry requirements. The project itself was most disappointing, from what i had read i had thought we'd be busy each day making a difference & helping. However each day nothing was organised and we drove around the reserve for a few hours before heading back. Overall most my time at amakhala was spent sat around waiting to hear if we were going to help with anything. It is also important to note that you wont be invited to stay at the lodge if your staying under a couple of weeks. Although this was frustrating amakhala did make a large effort in ensureing i saw the reserve one last time before my departure . They made sure we saw the darting & care of a cheetah in my final moments there. Overall it was a pleasent experiance which i think would of been better if it was better organised/had more involvement. I would recommended staying for a longer period as i may have just come at a 'quiet' time.
