The Trust seeks in particular to serve the needs of disabled or disadvantaged children and young people, by giving them material aid, and assistance to adults who serve them. It is also dedicated to supporting Christian political education and acts as a facilitator, to encourage groups and organizations working for the good of others.

Epiphany Trust grew out of the Romanian orphanage crisis of 1990, and as the need for emergency aid to Romania diminished, it was replaced by more long-term help with building, equipment and training facilities for teachers, medical workers and others.

Over the past 29 years Epiphany Trust has grown substantially with further projects being undertaken in Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, India, Pakistan, the U.K., Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. These projects have changed the lives of thousands of disadvantaged children and those with disabilities.

Epiphany Trust focuses on helping young people who are often out of the public eye and so struggle for support – the disadvantaged and disabled. The charity’s work spans the world with long-term, sustainable initiatives taking place in countries including Sri Lanka, Burma, El Salvador, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Romania as well as the UK.

Our Gap Year Program

The Trust now offers great opportunities for people who want to combine exciting gap year travel with voluntary work. You can volunteer for a whole year or for just a few weeks if you prefer and we positively encourage those wishing to take a career break.

The work can be extremely varied and different projects arise from time to time. Detailed above are those where we currently require volunteers.

But it isn't all work and no play. Bathing with Elephants, visiting Dracula's castle, enjoying the most perfect beaches, making life long friends, experiencing new cultures and most of all knowing your help was much needed and so gratefully received.

Everyone gets an individually tailored programme, which is costed to suit your requirements. So if you want to join us on a Gap year or even just for a few weeks or if you want to know more about the opportunities on offer please get in touch.

Volunteering

Epiphany Trust provides life changing support to children and young people throughout the world and relies on the work of volunteers and donations.

There are lots of opportunities for you to get involved! Spend time at The Arc in Romania; Camp Romania; with street children in Sri Lanka; or join the fund-raising ‘challenge’ – hiking across the Carpathian’s. We can tailor your time with us around personal preference and other commitments you may have. We can also put together a full or part gap year experience.

Alternatively, you could get involved by volunteering on a Chrysalis holiday for learning disabled adults, or by becoming an Epiphany Trust rep in your own church or community. Contact the trust if you are interested in becoming a volunteer or would like to find out more about our volunteering programmes.
