Sunsail are currently recruiting a Yachtmaster Instructor to work in Agana, Croatia. This is a full season position from March to November. Following successful summer placements, winter opportunities may be available.

Working hours vary and you MUST be able to cover operational requirements. It is important to be flexible within your job role and understand that you may be required to move between different resorts or departments according to operational needs.

 

What you'll be doing

Manage all operational aspects of the sailing school, to include the delivery of the RYA syllabus, day to day management of staff, driving revenue and ensuring yachts are set up to Sunsail and RYA standards

  • Coordinate paperwork and instructors for all courses
  • Drive revenue and promote courses available within resort
  • Maintain the standards of training delivered on shore based courses
  • To monitor customer feedback of RYA training and investigate comments where necessary
  • Liaise with the RYA and other governing bodies to ensure that the syllabus delivered  is up to date
  • Ensure yachts are clean and set up per the company standards and RYA requirements
  • To ensure that any changes in the SOPs are communicated to instructors
  • To provide support and guidance to instructors, and provide ongoing training as necessary
  • To develop course material to support existing and future course requirements
  • Ensure before the yachts set sail correct paperwork has been completed as per the company and local law requirements
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are kept to whilst instructors are at sea
  • Lead and motivate the instructors
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Carry out other duties within your ability as requested by your line manager

 

What type of person are we looking for

  • RYA Yachtmaster Instructor with commercial endorsement
  • At least 1 years’ experience managing a team
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Knowledge of the RYA sailing school syllabus and standards
  • Ability to work as a reliable member of the team
  • Highly motivated individual
  • Good communication skills – oral and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • First aid certificate
