Rescue Center Costa Rica is considered the best animal volunteer program in Costa Rica. We are located in Guacima, Alajuela on a 10 acre farm which is just a short drive from the Juan Santamaria International airport.

We have an on-site hospital staffed by dedicated vets/interns and comfortable living quarters which can house up to 100+ volunteers at any time. The animal enclosures include but are not limited to an aviary, sloth gardens, and monkey cages all surrounded by nature in order to allow the animals a place as close to their natural habitat as they recover from their wounds.

Volunteer Support:

We have a staff of four full-time coordinators at all times. Volunteers are separated into groups daily and training assistance is provided by the coordinator in charge of their group.

Volunteer Safety:

The safety of our volunteers is an important aspect of our project. We do not allow volunteers to handle any activities which would put them ion physical danger to the animals. Health and Covid19 concerns are also extremely important and we provide all the necessary means in order to prevent health issues. A medical clinic, as well as a private hospital, are both a 5-minute drive from our facility for emergencies.
