Volunteer - Real Gap's Moldova Orphanage Volunteers

General Info

You will be working in an orphanage for young children, home to 200 youngsters between 0 and 5 years old, some of whom are mildly or severely disabled. The children are split into 11 groups of about 15 to 20 orphans divided by age and needs.

The orphanage is short staffed and the children are desperately in need of some care and playtime. You will choose a group to work with and help out with a varied range of tasks ranging from feeding and general care to brightening things up with games and activities, creativity is a definite bonus!

You will also have the option during your time at the project to assist at a smaller private orphanage; where there are 15 to 20 children aged between 2 and 16 years old. Activities will be many and varied including playing games, leading painting workshops and taking part in team building activities. During the summer months this will be held at a camp outside the capital.

Requirements:

There are no specific qualifications or requirements needed to take part on this trip. We do however require that all travellers have a sense responsibility for other travellers, project staff and local community and most importantly... a sense of fun and adventure!
