Fasten your seat-belt it’s time for whirlwind 2 weeks in South Africa; take in a Big 5 game reserve, tour the stunning Garden Route, help out with wildlife conservation and work on your surf skills at Jeffrey’s Bay!

General Info

Week 1

Work with a whole host of wildlife on a Big 5 game reserve between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown. You’ll help to care for lions and elephants and lend a hand with game monitoring. There will also be time for an elephant ride through the reserve close encounters with reptile and a traditional South Africa Braai!

Week 2

Prepare for an action-packed week as you take in the best of the Garden Route! Kicking off in Port Elizabeth you’ll go on to surf the waves in Jeffreys Bay, trek through the heart of the forest in Tsitiskamma National Park, choose between exploring Cango Caves or crocodile cage diving in Oudtshoorn and finish off with a trip to Table Mountain before making the most of your last few days in Cape Town!

Prices range depending on activity and duration. Volunteering starts from £389 for 2 weeks, Adventure Travel starts from £799 for 2 weeks and our Paid Work options start from £299 for up to 12 months. Requirements:

There are no specific qualifications or requirements needed to take part on this trip. We do however require that all travellers have a sense responsibility for other travellers, project staff and local community and most importantly... a sense of fun and adventure!
