South Africa Big 5 Wildlife and Community

Unleash your inner explorer and work closely with lions and elephants on a beautiful Big 5 Game Reserve. You’ll learn about animal tracking and become an expert in conservation management and behavioural monitoring.

General Info

You’ll be rolling up those sleeves and getting hands-on with all sorts of conservation activities, wildlife don’t do too well with schedules so your itinerary will be vary according to what the reserve and it’s residents need!

Some of the activities you’ll be getting up to may include; caring for lions and their cubs when there are any, assisting with releasing lions into game reserves if this happens while you’re there, feeding, looking after and learning all about elephants, and rehabilitating and maintaining the reserve through bush clearing, fencing and landscaping. By the end of your time at the project you’ll be a fully fledged expert on African wildlife and ecology!

Benefits:

Prices range depending on activity and duration. Volunteering starts from £389 for 2 weeks, Adventure Travel starts from £799 for 2 weeks and our Paid Work options start from £299 for up to 12 months. Requirements:

There are no specific qualifications or requirements needed to take part on this trip. We do however require that all travellers have a sense responsibility for other travellers, project staff and local community and most importantly... a sense of fun and adventure!
