We want to reiterate our profound gratitude to all of you for your interest in providing medical care and support in Haiti. Thousands have offered their time and skills to provide medical and surgical care in Haiti, and we can’t thank you enough for this expression of solidarity.

The conditions in Haiti are changing rapidly, and our volunteer needs continue to evolve. In order to effectively respond to the situation, we are in close contact with our teams on the ground, and are basing our volunteer deployment on their assessment.

It is abundantly clear to us that the need for volunteers will not diminish in the coming months. In the future, we hope to be able to turn to those of you who have generously offered your time and energy to help us continue to stand with Haiti in the months and years to come.

In the next three months, we expect to be able to meet our clinical needs on the ground through existing partnerships we have established with institutions that are able to deploy teams of individuals on short notice and to our changing specifications. In addition, our need for Kreyol-speaking health professionals is great, so we are working with those partners to prioritize the involvement of Haitian-Americans.

We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding if we have not yet responded to your offer. Please check this space again in approximately three months for an update on our activities and ways that we expect to deploy volunteers moving forward. Please know that we are maintaining the contact details and particular skills (medical, language and otherwise) of every person who has filled out our online form. If you have not yet provided us with your information and would like us to have it for future reference, please fill out the volunteer information request form.

We are humbled by the number of people wanting to give their time to help respond to the needs in Haiti. Thank you again for your solidarity.
