Volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary in Ecuador

Company : Oyster Worldwide
Duration: 1 week to 3 months
Approx Costs: 500 to 3000+ £ Pound (UK)

Volunteer in the Amazon jungle at a wildlife sanctuary for rescued animals. These animals have been rescued from the illegal pet and wildlife trade, and are now living a life as close to the wild as possible.

You will be based in a remote sanctuary, 5 hours from Quito. The sanctuary is lush and beautiful, and home to several hundred rescued animals.

Volunteers help with food preparation, feeding, enrichments and basic maintenance of the sanctuary. It is a great opportunity to work closely with monkeys, birds, Amazonian big cats, caimans and more. The project is very hands-on and you will be going to bed feeling tired!

Volunteers live in cabins in the centre of the sanctuary. There is a swimming pool on site, communal bathrooms and a lovely lounge area to relax.

You have 1.5 days free at the weekend to do some exploring of the local area. With white water rafting, the Amazon jungle, spas and more on your doorstep, you will be kept very busy!
