Operating mainly in pristine Nature's Valley and surrounds, we work in the fields of conservation, environmental education, community awareness and ecological research.

The village of Nature’s Valley is situated 30km from the town of Plettenberg Bay alongside the mouth of the Groot River. Nature’s Valley is unique not only because of its astounding beauty, pristine forests and long white beaches, but also because it is the only residential area in South Africa that lies within a National Park.

The village is surrounded by lush afromontane forest which ensures a rich diversity of animal and bird life. Alongside the village is the immaculate Groot River lagoon which cements the feeling of peace and tranquillity and provides a home for many extraordinary species such as the Cape Clawless Otter and the African Fish-Eagle. The beach stretches for approximately three kilometres and is surrounded only by tall natural dunes, forest and mountains. During the various seasons one can see bottle-nose dolphins, southern right whales and countless other bird and animal species.

Operating mainly in pristine Nature's Valley and surrounds, we work in the fields of conservation, environmental education, community awareness and ecological research. We work in a range of different habitats, including rivers, estuaries and the ocean, forests, and the endemic fynbos, one of 6 plant kingdoms found in the world and only found in South Africa.

The Volunteer NVT programme offers volunteers a rewarding way to spend a vacation, gap year or career break. While you spend your days in and around one of the most beautiful places along South Africa’s Garden Route, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an organisation that is loved and respected by the community.

The Nature's Valley Trust accepts volunteers to assist with Environmental Education, Community, Conservation and Research projects throughout the year. Volunteers get the opportunity to work on a range of programs, experiencing first hand what the life of a conservationist is Africa is like.
