General Info

Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization. LAW’s objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on Koh Lanta island in the south east of Thailand.

Program Description:

Lanta Animal Welfare is in urgent need of volunteers to help care for the islands stray, neglected and abused animals. Come join an incredible team of hardworking people and help our cause. Responsibilities range from basic care (walking, feeding, cleaning, socialising) to giving treatment to ill or recovering animals, admin, assisting the vet, educational outreach, catching strays for sterilizations, and more.

All volunteers staying a minimum of one month will receive free, basic but comfortable accommodation (food is at your own expense). You will have support the whole time you stay with us, an introduction to the island and a great experience! Successful candidates will need to be hardworking, enthusiastic, ready to learn new things and proactive. Unlike many animal welfare associations, we DO NOT charge you to come and help.

For all long-term volunteers there’s a complimentary gourmet Thai cooking class, plus discount prices at our founder's restaurant and beach bar.

Requirements:

Good health, a willingness to work hard, tolerance for a tropical environment and animal husbandry. A background in working with animals is preferred but not essential.
