Lalmba

General Info

Lalmba is an African word meaning "A Place of Hope".

We are a group of committed professionals who search out the most remote parts of Africa in which to work - places where other organizations have chosen not to work. We specialize in providing medical care to people who have no place else to turn, and to orphan children who recognize us as their family now. Our work is not easy - but it certainly is rewarding.

We are currently looking to fill the following positions:

Ethiopia

RN, NP, PA or MPH: Two positions are available in Ethiopia later this year. The Chiri Health Center is a small hospital in the rain forest of south-western Ethiopia. Last year the Health Center saw 22,125 patients plus cared for 17,171 in our outreach programs. There are two American physicians and 2 other Americans on staff plus 6 Ethiopian nurses as well as other support staff. It's a busy place in a beautiful forest.
Clinic Manager

This is a position not involving the practice of medicine but managing day to day activities of a busy OPD and IP facility.
Outreach Manager

This position involves overseeing activities (mostly preventive and public health) at several remote sites too distant to be served at the Chiri Health Center.
