La Isla Foundation is a 501-c-3 non-profit based in Leon, Nicaragua that supports the small community of La Isla, also known as “The Isle of Widows”, near Chichigalpa, in Norwestern Nicaragua, where generations of men are dying of a chronic kidney disease (CKD) epidemic. Access to proper medical treatment is limited and the families left behind live in severe poverty with no form of income.

For all positions, individuals must be: 18 years old or older, able to work with others, able to complete activities assigned to them, comfortable working in a small, poor, rural community in Nicaragua, open minded, friendly, self-motivated, responsible, and trustworthy.

How to apply: Send your resume along with a short description of why you feel you are suited for the particular position.

Volunteers can apply for more than one positions, as some can also be combined.

If you do not think you qualify for the position, please contact us. Chances are that if you feel you can offer something, you probably can!
