Karuna

General Info

Karuna strives to help oppressed people to develop the skills, dignity and confidence to transform their lives and take their rightful place in society.

Karuna was established in 1980 and is administered by Western Buddhists, but the projects are open to anyone regardless of background. Our projects promote dignity and self-confidence, and the breaking down of caste and religious barriers. Karuna is a Sanskrit word meaning ?Compassionate Action Based on Wisdom?.
