Through their programs, they aspire to empower both those recipients and their supporters to drive positive and ongoing social change in their communities.

Building the capacity of people to make positive changes is a central aim of JWOC. JWOC welcomes International volunteers that can offer particular skills that will leave a lasting impact on the people and communities we work with.

We are looking for volunteers who can commit from 2 weeks to a month or several months and the volunteer must have a passion for developing people and organizations. We accept individuals who can share their relevant experience with our local team and scholarship students in an effective and sustainable manner.

Every volunteer brings a different set of skills which we will match to our three different Programs — Scholarship, Free Classes and Community Support (or in Communications).

What is the next step?

If you are interested in volunteering at JWOC please enquire. A full CV and a covering letter witll be required explaining why you want to work with us, what skills you can bring and how the organization will benefit from your time with us.

Please note that all volunteers will be asked to provide appropriate references and a police record check (or the equivalent depending on your nationality) before starting the volunteer placement with us.

JWOC does not charge fees for volunteers who come to work with us.  We do encourage our volunteers to fundraise for JWOC's Programs and activities at home to enable us to continue helping in the community. The volunteer can choose which part of JWOC’s work they wish to contribute to when they make the donation.

For volunteer groups - please send the date of your visit and the number of people that would like to attend.  We ask that at least one member of the volunteer group takes the role of the leader and as such responsibility for the group.
