We have enabled thousands of life-changing work and travel experiences since 1985. We work with trusted partners to offer excellent opportunities with screened and accountable employers.  Safety is our greatest concern, and we offer 24-hour support.

Have you ever dreamed of traveling abroad for paid work experience? Do you have agricultural, horticultural, or livestock experience? We are here to help make that dream come true!

International Rural Exchange Canada is a non-profit organization recognized by the Government of Canada helping trainees experience agriculture abroad for over 30 years. We are located in Alameda, Saskatchewan and travel across the country educating students and young farmers alike about the benefits of our international exchange program.

Trainees from Canada journey abroad to Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, and we work with international partners to receive trainees in Canada. We have a diverse set of placements in several different countries. We offer an assorted set of placements which include but are not limited to crops, beef, dairy, sheep, greenhouses, bee-keeping, equine, and wine-making.

After finding you the perfect placement for your skillset we assist with visa applications and work permits. Before you depart we ensure you learn about your host family and accommodation. If problems arise while you are abroad we are available to help solve most any problem you encounter.

Not only will you have a paid work placement, but also have opportunities to travel on weekends, days off and holidays. We encourage you to explore the culture and sites around you!
