Be ready to embark of an adventure of a lifetime; discovering a part of Indonesia with magical sights, enchanting creatures and Komodo Island, the land of the Komodo Dragon. Catherine Capon, eco adventurer,  has seen the Komodo dragon itself and says ‘The deadly, man-eating dragons are not to be missed.

At 10 feet long, these giant reptiles, with their loose leathery skin and mouths dripping with to, bacteria-filled saliva, are an intimidating sight’. It truly is a wonder for the bucket list! Experience the Flying Fox island to view literally thousands of fruit bats on their daily exodus from the caves and mangroves for an ariel display that is up there with the best arial displays you could hope to see.

Itinerary

DAY 1: LABUAN BAJO, RINCA ISLAND & KALONG ISLAND - Upon arrival at Labuan Bajo airport you will be met by our local staff and you will be taken by private car to the harbour (10 minute drive) to board your boat to start your adventure to Rinca Island! The journey is 2.5 hours and lunch will be served to you on the boat. Rinca Island is one of the small islands in the Komodo National Park, it is home to various species of wild animals such as monkeys, pigs, deers, Komodo dragons themselves and many more. This is when we will explore the island! Along with the forestry rangers and guide, we go in search of the Komodo dragon as well as other exotic wildlife and fauna. Trekking can be chosen for short, medium or long trek. After this, we will proceed boating to Kalong Island which will take around 1 hour. Kalong Island is a small island covered by mangrove trees and is the ideal habitat for bats (flying foxes) - so keep a look out! In the afternoon you will experience the spectacular sight of thousands of bats together searching for food. A healthy and adventurous dinner will be served for you on the boat.

DAY 2: KALONG ISLAND, KOMODO ISLAND, PINK BEACH SNORKELLING & LABUAN BAJO - Breakfast will be served and after this, we start the exciting second day! Sailing for around 2 hours to Loh Liang station on Komodo Island, where we will trek for an hour to Banugulung, the former feeding ground to see some Komodo dragons in the wild. As like in Rinca, trekking can be chosen from short, medium and long trek. On the way to Banugulung you will encounter several other animals including wild pigs, deers and various colourful birds. We return to the boat for lunch and then we will journey for 1 hour to the famous ‘Pink Beach’, that offers a magical marine life full of corals and colourful fish. After spending some time here exploring the water and snorkelling, we will sail the 3-4 hours to Labuan Bajo to stay the night in a hotel.

DAY 3: HOTEL, BATU CERMIN CAVE, LABUAN BAJO AIRPORT & BALI - Breakfast will be provided in the hotel. After, we will set off to visit the famous Batu Cermin Cave about 30 minutes drive away. Batu Cermin is the Indonesian name for Mirror Rock. Depending on the time of year, the sun shines into the canyon between 9am and 10am and is reflected on the walls. This creates a spectacular visual effect - it is a beautiful sight. Then, it is time for transfers to the airport for return flights.
