Working on the staggering 10,000-acre conservancy, you will divide your time between working with the elephants and the rhinos. There may also be the chance to work at a small school close to the project during term time.
The Rhino Project
Help to rehabilitate rhinos and get them back into their natural environment. You will be able to play a significant role in saving this amazing species from extinction, your tasks may include:
• Learning to handle the rhinos
• Cleaning out pens and bringing the animals in for the evening
• Walking with the rhinos
• Collecting valuable data on their behaviour and ecology
• Interacting with the baby rhinos providing the contact and security they need during this important time in their lives
The elephant project
Work closely with these magnificent creatures and their handlers, you can learn all about and interact with gentle giants! Your tasks may include:
• Pen cleaning and feeding
• Elephant back safaris and camping out in the bush
• Daily tasks such as wood collection, ploughing and farm work using the elephants
• Go on elephant patrols and help with snare sweeps
• Observe the elephants in their natural habitat whilst gathering research and data
What’s Included in the Programme
Project fee: this entails important financing that goes directly back into the project that you are involved with. This project fee facilitates funding for items such as tracking and monitoring equipment, programme maintenance and expansion

What’s Not Included in the Programme
Flights
Internal transfers to and from the airport: US$100 Payable upon arrival for return airport transfer
Visa costs and local taxes
Alcoholic drinks
Personal travel insurance. This should include cover for emergency air evacuation and repatriation.
All items of a personal nature such as curios, gifts, clothing (work and other) and luxuries such as drinks.
E-mails and telephone calls (charged at cost)
Any excursions over and above your planned itinerary in Zimbabwe e.g. visit to the Victoria Falls.

Requirements:
There are no specific qualifications or requirements needed to take part on this trip. We do however require that all travellers have a sense responsibility for other travellers, project staff and local community and most importantly... a sense of fun and adventure!
