Australia Conservation Project

Get stuck in with hands-on conservation in the great outdoors. Outback experts will teach you all about the environment you’re working in, local wildlife and the importance of conservation.

General Info

If you’re passionate about conservation and the environment the Conservation Volunteer Australia (CVA) programme is a great way to combine travel and worthwhile volunteer work.

As a volunteer you will be generally working from 8am - 4pm, 5 days a week, with some changes depending on your project. Your activities will be many and varied and will include some of the following:

• Environmental monitoring
• Tree planting
• Construction and maintenance of walking tracks
• Erosion and salinity control
• Habitat restoration
• Endangered-species protection
• Seed collection
• Planting of native species

To give you the opportunity to see as much of Australia as possible and conserve a range of Australian scenery, you will be moved to a different conservation project every week or so depending on the seasonal conditions and conservation priorities; wherever help is needed, that’s where you’ll be off to!
