Community work with Hill Tribe children in Northern Thailand

General Info

The project offers shelter and education to around 120 hill tribe children who would otherwise face life on the streets or be forced into child trafficking. The children from tribes such as the Akha, Karen, Lahu and Lisu tribes have no nationality due to the location well known as the “Golden Triangle” and are in desperate need of a safe environment and care.

You will be volunteering Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm, with up to 3 hours of lessons throughout the working day. Working mainly as an assistant teacher, you will be helping to teach the children English through a variety of methods and eventually leading classes of your own! There will also be opportunities to help out with extra-curricular activities with the students such as sports or arts and crafts, and you may be needed to lend a hand with housekeeping duties around the school.
