The I Can Read System originally came about through research conducted between 1995 and 2000 by Antony Earnshaw and Annabel Seargeant. It is structured, cumulative and hierarchical, and is the first system in the world to link clusters of letters to single sounds in a unique manner.

Teaching Positions (Reading Specialist)

Responsibilities: Teach I Can Read Literacy courses:

  • Working with children between the ages of 2.5 to 12 years old.
  • Teaching pre-reading skills to children using the I Can Read System.
  • Teaching reading and comprehension skills using the I Can Read System.
  • Teaching writing skills, including grammar, editing and publishing.
  • Teaching oral presentation and communication skills.
  • Helping children develop social skills and positive classroom behaviour.

Conduct Assessments

  • Teachers will conduct initial assessments for all incoming students.
  • Teachers will regularly assess students during classes to monitor individual progress.

Communication

  • Teachers will maintain regular open communication with parents, through informal meetings, formal meetings and scheduled parent teacher meetings.
  • Teachers will keep attendance logs for all classes taught and update Centre Management when a student is ready for promotion.
  • Teachers will attend regular Learning Centre Team meetings.

Contribute to Student Growth and Retention

  • Increasing sign-ups – achieved through maximising the assessment process.
  • Minimising withdrawals – achieved through maximising the teaching process.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualifications, preferably in Teaching/Education/Early Childhood/ Studies/ English/ English Literature or Linguistics.
  • Native English speaker with a universally recognisable accent and a strong command of the English Language.
  • At least two years of related teaching experience, or similar.
  • An enthusiasm for teaching young children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work well with co-teachers, and Learning Centre Management.
  • The ability to operate with a high level of integrity and professionalism.

 

Centre Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration, operations and management of the Learning Centre.
  • Responsible for the growth and overall profitability of the Learning Centre.
  • Decision making with good business sense.
  • Proper delegation of tasks to staff.
  • Create a warm and comfortable environment for students and parents.
  • Maintain a clean and conducive to learning environment.
  • Ensure safety and care for students.
  • Schedule classes and timetable.
  • Attend, respond and manage customer enquiries and requests.
  • Provide excellent customer service to parents and students.
  • Manage expectations of parents and students.
  • Front desk and administrative duties.
  • Responsible for maintaining professional standards of the Learning Centre as determined by HQ.

 

Customer Service Executive

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Candidate should possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma (any field)
  • Candidate should have a minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in a supervisory/managerial position.
  • Fresh graduates with a relevant field of study will also be considered.
  • Preferable experience includes but is not limited to Education centres,Sales, Customer Service, Retail; Food and Beverage.
  • Must love children.
  • Ability to manage stress and handle difficult situations at all times.
  • Candidate should possess a cheerful disposition and excellent communication skills at all levels and must be customer oriented.
  • Strong managerial skills and good business acumen.
  • Candidate needs to be a good team player with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
  • Good English speaking skills.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin or other dialects to communicate with grandparents is preferable but not required.
  • Excellent computer skills and MS Office proficient.
  • Must be willing to work retail hours (i.e. Saturdays and Sundays until 6pm) with 2 off days.
