General Info

Teach for Hess Education in Taiwan in one of our 250 schools. In Vancouver, we offer a 9-day (60 hour) TEFL course that will give you everything you need to teach English overseas!

Hess Education Canada is the first centre for the Hess Educational Organization to be established outside of Asia. After much research and consideration, Vancouver, Canada was determined to be the ideal spot to officially introduce the West to our unique fusion of Western and Eastern educational philosophies and approaches.


We offer four main services at our Vancouver centre at 179 West Broadway (across from Mountain Equipment Co-op - MEC)


• Mandarin Programs (Traditional & Simplified - beginner, intermediate, advanced)

• TEFL Certification (for both Native English speakers and Non-Native English speakers)

• Teacher Recruitment (we recruit exclusively for our schools in Taiwan and Singapore)

• Confidence Camps (for international students coming to Canada)

Our mission is to enable our learners to achieve their maximum learning potential while nurturing a life long love for learning. It is not easy, but we are up for the challenge. We have been nurturing learners now for 26 years, so we are pretty confident we have what it takes, but we are not content to rest on our laurels either. Instead, with self-improvement as a guiding influence, we continually look for ways to refine our programs and incorporate the latest learning methodologies into our classrooms and training centres so that we can provide the best pedagogical environment for our learners.

Placement Info

There are 4 intake dates to teach in Taiwan for Hess: March 1st, June 1st, Aug 15th and Dec 1st.
