This trip is specially designed for travellers short on time and seeking for a fun trip away from the tourist crowds in Scotland.
The Skye High tour takes you through a 3 day true Scottish experience. Visit castles, wild mountain sceneries, learn about Celtic culture and have a great time partying the night away in a Highland pub.
Day 1: Edinburgh to Loch Ness
We leave Scotland's capital crossing the Forth Road Bridge and make our way through Macbeth country to Dunkeld with its mighty Cathedral. Then onto a Highland whisky distillery to sample the 'Water of Life' and discover how Scotland's favourite tipple is made. Journeying on through Inverness, capital of the Highlands we follow the entire length of Loch Ness, searching for a glimpse of the legendary beast. Fort Augustus on the shores of Loch Ness is home for the night.
Day 2: Isle of Skye
Today we explore the 'winged isle' or 'Isle of Mist' with its ruined castles, awesome scenery and home to the legendary MacLeod and MacDonald Clans. Immersed in Celtic myths and Viking legends, we explore the windswept landscape and brooding Red and Black Cuillin Mountain ranges. There is also the chance for a hike through this stunning environment before we return to the mainland past the beautiful Eilean Donan Castle.
Day 3: Loch Ness to Edinburgh
Leaving the Great Glen we pass under the shadow of Ben Nevis and our route south takes us through the stunning Glencoe (used as a backdrop in Skyfall and the Harry Potter movies). We head past Stirling, scene of many of Scotland's most famous and bloody battles in the Wars of Independence. We hear of local legends such as William Wallace and Robert the Bruce before and our return to Edinburgh.
She poured her heart and soul into all of her stories, her driving and Into all of us! I made a life long overseas friend on this trip!!! Carrie had a way of making everything seem magical and fun! I would do this again, 100% and have already recommended to friends! Love you Carrie and thanks again!
Haggis Adventures are such a good company, so many people had recommended them to me and the Skye High tour is perfect if you would like to see more of Scotland. I had Lee Duncan as my tour guide who was really fantastic and gave us to much information, he really helped make this trip incredible! Scotland is beautiful and our tour group got to see so many amazing locations. My only improvements would be that 3 days really isn't enough time and and there could be more stop offs for photos (I never get bored of taking photos!).
