Itinerary

Our routes have been carefully chosen to include the best night stops and highlights. However, as local and operational conditions may vary and unforeseen circumstances can arise, the following itinerary should be used as a guideline.

Day 1: Chicago to Springfield
Springfield was not only the home of Abraham Lincoln, but it's also the birthplace of corndogs and drive-thru restaurant service!

Day 2: St Louis
The Gateway Arch commemorates the settlement of America's West and it was from here that countless pioneers set out to explore and conquer the wild frontier.

Day 3: Joplin
Pay a visit to Fred & Red's diner for a bowl of their famous chilli and make a night of it at one of Route 66's last drive-in movie theatres.

Day 4-5: Oklahoma City
Welcome to cowboy country, and what could be a better introduction to the West than a visit to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

Day 6: Amarillo
On the "Way to Amarillo", stop by the 'Official' Route 66 Museum. Then make your way to the Big Texan Steak Ranch for a FREE 72oz steak.if you can eat it all in less than an hour!

Day 7-8: Santa Fe
The Cadillac Ranch is a Texan version of Stonehenge, with 10 classic cars buried nose down in the dirt. On the opposite of the cultural spectrum is Santa Fe, known for its adobe architecture and new world spiritualism.

Day 9: Gallup
From modern culture to ancient civilizations, stop by the 'Sky City' ruins on the Acoma Indian Reservation. Gallup is home to a diverse population, with a third of its residence being of Native American decent.

Day 10-11: Grand Canyon National Park
So it's not on the original Route 66, but it's so close it would be a shame to pass it by! The Grand Canyon is an iconic symbol of the Desert Southwest and a spectacle not to be missed.

Day 12-13: Las Vegas
The Snow Cap Diner makes for a quirky lunch stop en route to the Hoover Dam. Then try your luck on the one-armed bandits or take in a show - Las Vegas is Americana at its most outrageous.

Day 14: Los Angeles
Follow the route to the very end and toast farewell to the Mother Road from Santa Monica Pier.

Tour ends at approx 17:00 hrs in Los Angeles on day 14.
