Wake up to the diverse sound of the jungle one week, and breathe in the clean ocean air the next. Spend one week in the oldest rainforest of Malaysia and another week in the beautiful Perhentian Islands.

Volunteers will get to go on anti-poaching patrols on the borders of Taman Negara with our team. Help us in our effort to reduce human impacts in the wildlife corridor between the Taman Negara National Park and the main mountain range in West Malaysia (this is where poaching is at its densest). You will also get to track and collect data on human and wildlife activities and even dismantle snares found. Other than that, go limestone caving and help us to preserve local limestone caves.

You will also get to forage and camp with the Batek ladies (a local indigenous tribe) and go trekking in areas off traditional routes to cover as much area as possible. The Batek still make the forest their home and still practice hunting and gathering lifestyle.

Then, head to Perhentian islands and get involved with the local community and enrich the minds of the young. Help our team in educating the villagers and tourists on conservation and how to make it a way of living, whether at home or while on vacation! Paint murals, prepare lesson plans and lead the 3 school clubs and be sure to utilize your unique skills in our various projects.

Immerse in local culture as you will get to interact and work with villagers, dine in their house for a weekly Malay dinner and even attend the 'Kuih' (traditional Malay dessert) making session by the Perhentian Island’s Ladies Association (PILA) - which we instigated in 2012!
