F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Horse Rescue

The Florida Research Institute For Equine Nurturing Development & Safety AKA F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Horse Rescue saves the lives of horses from unnecessary slaughter & euthanization.

All horses, which react positively to the Coggins Test, must be slaughtered, euthanized or quarantined 600 feet away from the nearest negative horse. Most individuals do not own sufficient land to meet these strict quarantine requirements.

We have a very active and popular volunteer program. Our participants come from the surrounding communites, high schools, and just folks who want to help. We fulfill community service hours as well. Our volunteers are very much appreciated and come from all walks of life and of all ages. You do not need to have a knowledge of horses, just a willingness to help the horses and the ranch and to be a member of F.R.I.E.N.D.S .

You must attend an orientation before you begin volunteering. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must attend the orientation with you.
