Ecoteer Responsible Travel is making a difference in travel and tourism by only supporting projects that are truly commited to sustainable tourism and green travel.

Travel to far flung destinations in Malaysia, Borneo, Sri Lanka, or Laos for experiences which will make a positive impact both environmentally and spiritually. Ecoteer Responsible Travel uses the UN accredited Responsible Travel Checklist as a guideline to improve on the impact of our activities. Ecoteer Responsible Travel’s pilot project was on the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia with a main focus on turtle and coral conservation as well as community projects.

Other Malaysian projects now include the Rainforest Awakening project based around the jungles of Mt Korbu and Teach in Borneo, an English teaching project based at a Palm Oil Estate near Sukau, Sabah. In Sri Lanka, Ecoteer Responsible Travel linked up with two NGOs which focus on conservation and community development – an Elephant Sanctuary and a Turtle Rehab Project. The Elephant Sanctuary project cares for elderly elephants, assists local villagers to reduce human-elephant conflicts and provide free veterinary care for elephants found injured or kept by villagers.
