A secular movement, the strength of Emmaus comes from its capacity to open up to others. Since the creation of the Emmaüs Communities, young people have been involved in the dynamics in order to challenge and develop the Emmaüs movement.

The Emmaüs Lescar-Pau Village, founded by a former youth worker from the Chantier solidaire (at the time youth camps) of the late 1970s, perpetuates this tradition of openness and commitment.

You want to participate in new alternatives, live experiences in the center of which is the man, join us for a week, a summer or during your holidays, whatever the time of the year. Throughout your stay, you will discover all the activities of the Emmaüs Lescar-Pau Village, you will meet men and women of great wealth. By their side, you will immerse yourself in real life!

Since the birth of the Emmaüs Lescar-Pau Village in 1982, young people have been invited to participate in solidarity activities

Since its creation in 1982, the Emmaüs Lescar-Pau Village has endeavored to welcome young people through summer camps. They took place both within the Community and within the framework of itinerant worksites in the neighboring villages of Béarn or Bigorre: Orthez, Oloron-Sainte-Marie, Tarbes…

For more than 15 years, Emmaüs Lescar-Pau has organized and managed the youth camps for all the Communities of France applying for reception. Thus, in some twenty Communities, around 450 young people from all over the world were expected each year.

At the end of 2009, we, Village Emmaüs Lescar-Pau, decided to give a new opening to these youth camps. We want to make you even more aware of new alternatives that we are implementing on a daily basis: recycling and recovery of objects, restoration of objects, development of a farm and agro-ecology, opening to eco-construction, highlighting a committed culture, unconditional reception of the other.

We want you young people to discover and participate in the creation of new alternatives. We expect you to arrive with your relevance, your analysis to make us evolve towards new social, political, economic projects…

Also since June 2010, the Emmaüs Lescar-Pau Village has created its own Solidarity Workshop in order to allow you to assert yourself within a real alternative: a utopia become a daily reality.
