As one of the Sri Lanka’s famous volunteer organizations, Ceylon Volunteers, we feel a little proud of ourselves! This is a Non Profit organization which helps out disadvantaged people in Sri Lanka which develops the lives of people in Sri Lanka who doesn’t education or enough money in order to succeed in their lives.
Not only the volunteer projects, there are unforgettable trips around Sri Lanka too.
This organization was established in year 2005. Up to date we have conducted many of English teaching, Sports coaching , Vocational training, Leadership Training programmes in free of charge. As well as in the orphanages, conducted English teaching, Sports coaching, Leadership Training programmes and awarded some donations to make their background in a good manner. When we are implementing those projects we were able to get the support of the Lions clubs, Leo Clubs, and foreign volunteers.
Mostly our organization is working with government affiliated institutes. Also some of those projects supervised by the government officers.
Project Details
We commenced our projects in Sri Lanka in 2005 and since then we have done a lot of volunteer projects and have given the volunteer service to the country by achieving our organization objectives.

We plan more and more volunteer projects to hold and keep the disadvantaged people a step up by giving our hands to see the beauty of their lives.To reach the targets, we have set our objectives as far as we can get the maximum out of the process with a minimum cost.
Duration of Projects
Min 4 weeks- Maximum 12.
* We work only on weekdays.
· Locations of project :Colombo ( Capital city), Gampaha( Around capital city)
· Arrival Airport :Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (airport code CMB)
· Activities : Teaching projects, as followings.
# At vocational Training centers
# For Youth groups
# For children
· Working Hours : Flexible; Monday to Friday 3 to 5 hours per day, all other time is free.
· Getting to the project :Accommodation on site
· Requirements :Minimum age 18
Ceylon Volunteers offers the following programs.

· Extra curricular activities and sports such as Badminton, cricket, netball, volleyball, athletics etc.
· Help disadvantaged people in different ways that are in Disable Centers and Elder’s Homes.

Teaching
If it’s the career you’re after or you just fancy yourself writing on a chalkboard, the opportunity to teach abroad is a great experience. The English language is a valuable commodity in the less developed world. Use something that comes naturally to you to help others out! Ceylon volunteers work in children homes, teach to the community and give them a good English knowledge to enhance the opportunities. When they leave the children homes they will have the strength to compete with the society.
Sports
A sport is a unique way to incorporate. You can train, coach, instruct, volunteer and just enjoy whichever sport you’re interested in, would like to take up or improve on.
Sports Activities
Our sports projects are for all levels of skill and experience and include cricket, badminton, netball, volleyball, athletics etc.
Extra Curricular Activities
Ceylon Volunteers work at Children Homes as well as Disable Centers. We help them to get their hidden skills out and develop their skills. These activities include Art, Music, Physical Therapy etc.
What's Included?
* Accommodation :Shared rooms in volunteer house
* Food :Breakfast and dinner (Volunteers will be advised for the cheapest and best places for the lunch)
* Airport Pickup : Included on arrival date. Inform us for details if you’re arriving early.(The Local coordinators will be picked up. Return Airport transfer.
* Training : Will be given through the orientation programme on teaching, culture etc., before start the projects.
* Support : The team of local coordinators will be given their to the projects 24hr emergency support
* Wildness Challenge : Will be given a adventure experience of 03 days in a Rain forest side (Out of the capital city), also it’s included following activities. (Please mention this included accommodation, meals too.)

* Wildness Challenge Need to apply separately ( £ 60 )
* Weekend trips can be arranged for places around Sri Lanka. This gives advice on interesting places to visit such as the elephant orphanage, beautiful beaches and ancient ruins.
* The money that volunteers pay to participate in the project goes to fund their own living costs.

Living expenses include,
Accommodation and 2 meals a day. Expenses also include transport from the airport. Volunteers expenses also contributes towards a safety team that are on call 24hrs a day for any emergency.
