We have made an incredible commitment to our camp families over the years, building state of the art facilities and hiring the best in staff, but more importantly, the thing we do best...is take care of your children. Choosing a sleep away summer camp for your children is one of the most important decisions that you will make for your family. Our wholesome, inclusive, and nurturing environment, with the focus on childcare, allows us to ensure safe and happy campers, while creating memories that truly last a lifetime.

While we are one camp family, we are two separate summer camps in Pennsylvania. Camp Equinunk for Boys and Camp Blue Ridge for Girls are located just steps away from each other in the beautiful Pocono Mountains. We use the term "Brother-Sister" which perfectly describes our community and program, allowing "boys to be boys" and "girls to be girls." While our daytime programs are very much separate, we come together for evening activities, events, and special times for brothers and sisters, cousins and friends.

Conveniently located just 2 1/2 hours from the greater New York and Philadelphia areas the Equinunk and Blue Ridge campus sits on 400+ magnificent acres of fields and wooded trails and is divided by our 75-acre private spring-fed lake.

Recruitment

Ask almost anyone who has ever been a counselor here about his or her first summer. They will probably tell you stories that will easily explain why so many of them come back year after year. Summer camp is a very special kind of community that re-forms every season, beginning with the very first day of staff orientation.

The spirit is infectious. You'll feel it from day one. Then when the campers arrive, the fun - and the serious, hard work - begins. After all, even out here in the sun and the fresh air and amid all the fabulous facilities and equipment, one fact is never forgotten: We - that means every staff member - are caring for parents' most precious possessions, their children.

We need to mention something important: You're not out there all by yourself. We're here to help you establish memorable relationships with the campers. You'll be trained by experts, guided by experienced summer camp professionals, and will always have somewhere to turn. As a result, you'll learn a whole lot about yourself and build skills in teamwork, motivation and inter-personal relationships that will serve you well throughout your career - no matter what that might be - and throughout your life.

Positions at Camp

Bunk Counselors, referred to as "General Counselors," will live in a bunk with 6-10 campers and at least one co-counselor. Throughout each day, counselors will travel to and from activities with their campers and actively engage and participate with them during activity periods. Our bunk counselors spend the majority of their time with our children and are asked to monitor cleanliness in the bunk, hygiene of campers, eating habits during meal times and genuinely spend time getting to know each individual camper.

Specialists will also live in a bunk with one or two other co-counselors but will spend their days away from the bunk and at a specialized activity area. Most importantly, our specialists resume the role of a bunk counselor at times when they are away from their specialized area. Specialists at Camps Equinunk and Blue Ridge typically have 3-5 + years of experience teaching or instructing their particular area of expertise. We also strongly look towards individuals with the proper certifications.

Support Staff assist with the overall operation in a variety of areas. Positions range from office, medical, and culinary staff, to housekeeping and security. Our Support Staff is the "behind the scenes team" comprised of different areas that keep our summer camps up and running, safe and healthy, clean and tidy and of course, well fed!
