CALM Africa stands for Children's Rights Advocacy and Lobby Mission. To CALM Africa, every child matters and deserves protection to reach full potential.

Our Vision

CALM Africa vision is seeing that the rights of children, as defined by the UN Convention 1990, are promoted, protected and observed in Africa. These rights form a basis on which children are able to shape their own future, live their full potential and participate in development of their communities.

Our Mission

Working to pragmatically promote the rights and protection of children and young people in order to meet immediate needs and ensure lasting changes leading to successful and productive lives.

Volunteering and Support

Support from international volunteers is critical to CALM Africa’s activities. While tools like ambition, vision and determination exist in abundance, physical and financial resources, sadly, do not.

Volunteer with CALM and you can:

• Teach in one of our schools
• Help troubled youths gain practical skills at one of our vocational learning centres
• Contribute to the community by helping with home visits, assessments and designing intervention plans for some of Uganda’s poorest children and families
• Help in resource mobilisation
• Use your professional skills to help us further develop the services we offer to vulnerable young people in Uganda and across Africa
• OR… tell us how you think you can help in other ways
