We offer this professional course from our marine campus nestled on the virgin coastline of Mozambique, the gateway to the untamed East African coast. The course runs for a duration of six months with all training, accommodation, meals and amenities provided. Furthermore, we also offer an optional six month work placement, where you will work as a professional marine or adventure guide at a lodge on the east coast of Africa - after you have acquired your new set of skills!
Our facilitators have been specially handpicked to deliver and present this course and have a combined training and professional guiding experience of 20 years. Each of our facilitators are registered and qualified assessors with both the applicable sector education training authority (THETA) and the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA). Our company is also a registered and accredited training provider within South Africa and Mozambique.
Content is both theoretical and practical, with a curriculum that includes practical skills such as kayaking, skippering, scuba diving, snorkelling, 4x4 driving and marine and bush knowledge such as conservation, marine ecology, geology and animal behaviour.
The course is jam-packed with highlights, with a variety of adventure activities, together with the marine guiding component forming the core of the course.
