Sports coaching projects in South Africa

Share your passion for sport with disadvantaged children on Sports Coaching South Africa.

General Info

BUNAC, the UK’s leading non-profit travel organisation, is looking for volunteers who can take sessions in either football, cricket, rugby, hockey, netball, tennis, basketball or swimming.

Coaching placements involve working with children from the townships, organising and running sports clinics, training matches and planning tournaments and holiday camps.

The project is larger than sport, it’s about keeping children off the streets in a fun but serious and consistent way. Sports Coaching South Africa aims to bridge social divides, create platforms of opportunity and enhance awareness and knowledge on a wide range of key social and health issues.

Accommodation and food is provided and you’ll be living alongside other volunteers and South African staff. The accommodation has a very sociable atmosphere and is a great place to relax and unwind in the evenings, with a swimming pool and lots of activities such as table-tennis, TV/DVD room, pool table, braai area, etc.

With regular departures and projects lasting either 5 or 12 weeks, this is an ideal gap-year, career-break or summer holiday opportunity.

Experience a different culture and use your sporting skills to make a difference. Apply early to secure your place.
