Take a well-earned break from your studies and spend an extended period of time working and travelling in Canada.

Spend anything from eight weeks to twelve months enjoying the cosmopolitan city life of Toronto, snowboarding in the spectacular Rocky Mountains or chilling out on the west coast in Vancouver. Gap Canada offers you a unique chance to experience real Canadian life.

You have the opportunity to be truly independent taking virtually any job, anywhere in Canada for up to 12 months. Whether it's a hotel receptionist in Quebec City, waiting tables in a downtown Toronto restaurant or a ski guide in the Rockies on one of Canada's world class resorts - the opportunities are endless.

The registration fee is Â£175. You will have the option of arranging your own flights, or taking the BUNAC travel package which includes a return flight to either Toronto or Vancouver with a reputable airline (and up to 50 other BUNACers), transfer from the arrival airport and your first night's accommodation at a central city-based hostel.

Requirements

Participants must be aged 18 - 30 at the time of the visa application and entry to Canada. Participants must also hold a British passport and have a confirmed offer to begin a full-time degree level course at a university in the UK starting in 2009.

Dates

The 2008 programme opens in the summer. However, if you are currently on a Gap Year and would like to go to Canada before Gap Canada opens, you may be able to do so on Work Canada.
