Bridges For Education

The purpose of Bridges for Education is to promote tolerance and understanding
using English as a bridge.

Bridges for Education was founded in 1994 in response to the increasing need for educational assistance in Central and Eastern Europe. It is a New York State incorporated, not for profit, educational organization and is approved to receive tax deductible donations under federal code 501 (c)(3). It is not a religious or ethnic organization. All volunteer teachers are recruited without regard to their ethnic, religious or racial backgrounds.

To date, BFE has organized 84 camps sending approximately 950 teachers to eight countries serving about 11,000 students from 38 countries. BFE programs are international with students from Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Canada, Chechnya, China, Crimea, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. Each year is different.

All students are recruited without regard to their religious, ethnic, or racial backgrounds in order to promote understanding, tolerance, and friendships. BFE offers you a window of opportunity to do good work, to be greatly appreciated, and to learn about the world and yourself.
