Observations

The university we work with has five integrated hospitals and 11 research institutes for Chinese medicine. Some doctors do just acupuncture, some herbs and some both. Many doctors specialize, which is different from Chinese medicine overseas, so it is good to know in advance what you want to focus on. You could always split the time between one or two or more doctors.

Schedule: 8am – 12 and 1pm – 5pm.
It is possible to have half days or full days observations. In case of half days, mornings are more recommended.

Program: The student follows the doctor to each patient. In majority of cases the outline to the patients case is given by the doctor. There are also always two or more of the local students, who can help understanding the cases.

Every morning you will see between 30 and 100 patients.

Benefits:

Program fee: 2200 RMB/1 week (5days) for half day observations
Registration: 500 RMB

Translators can be organized for additional charges, if the doctor with given specialization does not speak any English.

Requirements:

To gain maximum from the training, the students need to have a background in basics of TCM or preferably be advanced students of Western medicine.
